Quick: 1863. Were there any parts when the Kim Dokja there did anything that says he's fine with being killed?
[damn it all, he should know this but he's still not completely familiar with the story.]
I'm pretty sure not? Putting self and worldline at risk is different from being "fine" with it. Also, before you ask, it's because Han Suyeong is reacting like she remembers all the other times that guy's died and is applying to me.
[Kim Dokja is typing...]
Actually, typing it all out is weird. Nevermind. Though this is why loaning books out when I'm still getting familiar with the story is a pain!
Let's put aside for one moment whether or not I believe that. Kim Dokja's lack of regard for his own life is so profound and deeply ingrained, that it can only be such a core trait as to be consistent across all worldlines.
She remembers things from outside of the 1863rd turn? ...it may be that her memory loss is inconsistent due to her monster. But it may also be that she read the story that the Han Suyeong of the 3rd turn wrote.
In a "dream". And I said "like a library" but it was really more piles of books. Not organized at all. In a cage-like structure. With some kind of storm going on outside of it. There was a moment when the sphinx backed down when a strong wind blew. So, thinking about it, if it was less a dream and more a mindscape of the part of Han Suyeong where the monster resides...
but after a while, Junghyeok's gonna get another text. it's an image of a Han Suyeong curled up on a bed, facing away from the camera. she's still got her coat on, even, but her sphinxy ears are low and tail is curled at her legs.]
? Tell me? Something happen? You left me on read long enough I was legitimately concerned you were doing something stupid. Don't forget you still have people here?
[okay. well. actually, no. that makes sense. uhhhh--focus on the question at hand, yep.]
No idea. Some people managed to travel to the realm where people in Solitary are asleep, so we have confirmation they're safe for now. It might just be a matter of him getting control over The Nothing.
[moments when it's especially felt he's not the right Kim Dokja, but there is some relief in having the answer Yu Junghyeok would prefer in lieu of that.]
People in Solitary do not participate in the scenarios that occur here. They're asleep, presumably, because it's a form of stasis to keep their monsters from continuing to overwhelm them entirely. You can ask Jiang Yanli on Echidna or Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji on Phoenix for details about the realm they went to where they were resting. I'll look into getting more information where I can but for now everything's pointing to he's safe and not in danger currently.
Alright. Fine. A path forward on dealing with The Nothing wasn't revealing itself anyway. It's not an improvement over dealing with The Nothing, but if he's not in danger if we're attacked again, it's also not a ton worse. We'll have to learn about this realm too while also figuring out what to do about The Nothing and the Sphinx. We may have to go there and drag him out eventually. Wouldn't be the first time.
Day 23, midday-ish

Re: Day 23, midday-ish
She's as perceptive as usual.
Re: Day 23, midday-ish
Also, I have never died, thanks.
Re: Day 23, midday-ish

[This is coming from the REGRESSOR??????]
Re: Day 23, midday-ish
but also, omg, he wants to punch Yu Junghyeok? this feeling hasn't happened in a long while?]
I think you're focusing on the wrong thing here.
Shouldn't you be more interested in the fact that Han Suyeong's memoryloss is pretty inconsistent?
Re: Day 23, midday-ish

Re: Day 23, midday-ish
It's not the first time she's had a moment like this.
And I don't think it's the second thing.
So it's definitely because of the monster.
Re: Day 23, midday-ish
She may have access to the entire story without setting foot in that library.
Re: Day 23, midday-ish
Not a bad theory.
Something to keep in mind.
Re: Day 23, midday-ish
It depends on how her monster is currently affecting her Stigma.
Which in a way confirms that it depends upon her monster anyway.
You said you met it once before.

Day 29, early??? (idk what time is)
Going to get a secure room at the library to put the books.
Han Suyeong's here at Echidna.
Don't go too crazy.
Re: Day 29, early??? (idk what time is)
Re: Day 29, early??? (idk what time is)
He's asleep like the others in the Solitary Confinement book in the Library.
Re: Day 29, early??? (idk what time is)
[Then nothing comes for a good while.]
[Either he's taking his time checking it out for himself or he's doing End Up On TV As A Suspected Terrorist things again.]

What did she tell you.

How do we get him out?

looks to Han Suyeong
looks to his phone

Day 29, early
You're absolutely certain he's in no danger.
